Nautical Nothings

Good afternoon all, Isn't the inspiration board below cool? I didn't think I'd like the nautical theme as much as I do, I think I like the very specific take on it, it has to be feminine, yet minimal and just as I said above.....cool!!!

The colour palette speaks for itself, navy and white teamed with baby blue, red, yellow perhaps even a mid pink.

I am also a huge fan of texture, layer white on white but add different textures, think lace, broderie anglaise, meringues, feathers, fabrics, cushions, etc.

Perfect for an afternoon beach wedding or carrying on the theme from yesterday, an on board wedding!!!!!!!

So So Succulent

Succulents are a great choice of flower for Greece.  They can withstand a lot of heat and the do not need too much water. I personally, love their structural form, especially coupled with bright coloured flowers to really give them a lift.

Here are some moodboards for you to peruse at your leisure.

There are so may different ways to arrange the succulents that all produce a completely different feel.  They really are such a versatile plant and definitely worth considering for your wedding arrangements.  I am loving that table plan.  It looks gorgeous!

Don't forget the Kids

A lot of your guests who are coming may have children and want to make a holiday of the trip.  I found that 90% of my friends who have children brought them with them, so take this into account and be prepared.  Kids party bags are a great idea to help entertain the kids at your wedding and will also enable the parents a little rest bite from their children.

There are a large amount of companies out there that will provide ready filled party bags for a reasonable price which could be an option for you but take into account you will have to ship them to Greece.  The other option is to make up your own, which also could be fun!  I have put together a moodboard for you to inspire you a little.

Obviously if you are going down the DIY route for your Kids party bags, purchasing the fillers in Greece would make a lot more sense and there are numerous children's shops there that you could utilise.   You could always mix and match fillers from the two countries if you are worried that Greece won't have a specific product but cost wise it, would be best to reduce the amount you ship and also you could need that vital space for something else.

Monochrome Rocks my Tiny World!

There is something about the simplicity of monochrome that I find so chic and done well, with just one strong dash of colour, striking.  If you are having your wedding in an amazing venue it also does not detract from its surroundings allowing the venue to be the drama whilst the decor is just the accent.  So I have put together a couple of moodboards depicting this very point.

There are so many options with this colour theme and it is a theme that can be used in any venue which for Greece really opens your options.

Anemones: Simple Yet Striking

Anemones have always been one of my favorite flowers.  I cannot say why, I just adore them so I thought I would dedicate this next array of flowers to them.  They are indigenous to Greece (the Greek translation of the word anemone meaning 'daughter of the wind') and are found from November through til June depending on the variety.

Due to my over enthusiasm finding inspiring images for you, I am separating this topic into 3 moodboards: Bouquets, centerpieces and cakes!

I find the anemone to be so romantic and even though it is quite a delicate flower can also stands its own when coupled with more structural flowers.  I hope you enjoyed the moodboards as much as I have making them.  The anemone truly is a great flower!

Some Moodboards for Inspiration - Beach Wedding

Image from agni.gr

So after my post on Sweat Water Beach in Sfakia I thought a moodboard was due showing some of my ideas for it.  Now the above image is not very wedding like but I thought it was funny so I added it.  In my mind I envisioned it as one of the first thing your guests would see whilst in the background a beautiful set up of tables and candles.  I have a certain family member who inevitably ends up stripped to his underwear in the last hours of a wedding reception so it can be quite apt!

I think some text is needed with this moodboard because I just have to mention the fire burning in a fishing boat.  That is awesome.  Set on the back drop of a deserted beach, it would be an amazing focal point to your beach wedding.  Also the orchid and sea urchin bouquet is divine and I think mixing the orchids with contrasting flowers such as anemones and some olive would be striking.  A simple menu and an abundance of candle would make this moodboard into beach wedding heaven.

Some Moodboards for Inspiration - Table Design 2

Whilst I was on this subject I thought a moodboard of place name options and table numbers might be in order.  Enjoy!

 ilLUMInate Etsy.com, corkcreations Etsy.com,

How great are those corks. They could always be a fun DIY project as well.  Especially if you have to drink enough wine to provide the corks!

Some Moodboards for Inspiration - Table Design

Thinking up ways to set up your tables can either be a breeze or a chore.  Here are some moodboards to help you get your perfect look.

& weddingconcepts.co.za

Any table design can be adapted for an indoor wedding or an outdoor wedding, don't be afraid to take a formal set up and tweak it to fit your venue.  I like the idea of having a contrasting table set up to venue.  It would be really cool to have a formal table design set on a beach.  Done well it will be incredible and totally unexpected. Don't be afraid to play around with accessories and styles, a mixture of styles can really work.

Some Moodboards for Inspiration Part 2

Herbal anyone?

These moodboards are both themed by herbs (just incase the subtitle hadn't already given that away!).  Herbs last well in heat and are not only fragrant but beautiful.
