Reflect your Personalities

I was having a quiet evening in with the boy last night and after 1 or 2 glasses of red my mind wondered to what post I would write next.  We had just been discussing my dream of having a beautiful traditional property in Greece and it lead me to personality and how important it is to relfect it in your wedding.  Now we all know different people have different strengths and if imagination and creativity is not one of yours, then seek out a good friend or relative who is.  Let them help you put those personal touches into your wedding.  If it is a very close friend then they should know both your personality and that of your beau, so trust them in their ideas.  I have a friend of mine in exactly this situation, who has asked me to help her with her wedding as 'the details' are not her strong point.  I am happy to help.  Obviously with what I do, it is clear that I enjoy this kind of thing but even if I didn't I would always help a friend who needed it.  Don't be afraid to ask.  I have been to quite a few weddings in my time and the best ones have always been when it is a mirror of the couples characters and to be honest, the worst have always been where there was no details, therefore no character or atmosphere at all.

One example; at our wedding we had wigs and hats.  This has been a long running tradition with a group of my friends for years.  I am not sure how it started but we always have a Christmas dinner and other random festivities throughout the year and it is an understanding that all must arrive at my house sporting a hat.  No hat, no food!   Now that was something for me, for Jubbs we added converse boots to his DJ as he is not a formal kind of guy so we wanted to dress the black tie down a little to reflect his dress sense.   It is these little details that make all weddings unique, as no two people are exactly alike.  So please, think about it and run with it.  On a very basic level, it is what will make the day yours!
