We really do! I love the idea of welcome packs and if I had not incorporated them into the invite pack would definitely have had some at ours. Done well they are great and a really helpful tool for your guests. The key is to make them organised and handy. If you are having more than one event it is great to have a list of events with all the relevant details, maps times, etc. There are so many ways to do them and you can couple them with a little welcome pressie of either local produce or some cool local made shower/bath products. Korres are a Greek company and make beautiful, natural products ranging from shampoos, shower gels to sun screens. A lot of the hotels in Greece use them now to stock their bathrooms and you can buy small party survival kits which are great.
This then brings me onto your organisation of guests. For you to be able to put the welcome packs into their rooms you will need to keep tabs on where everyone is staying. We did this by having a website with all relevant accommodation info on it and an accommodation form that everyone filled in but you can always put a section on your RSVP's.
I am heading down to a friend of mine this afternoon who studied advertising and graphics SO am going to coerce her into running up some design ideas for you to have a look at! But for now check out this gorgeous vintage travel themed idea from Style Me Pretty.
